On Thursday, November 9, the community of SouthFork became a member of the Pearland Area Chamber of Commerce. SouthFork employees are excited about becoming members and are looking forward to the many events and functions that are available to all the members.

SOUTHFORK HOSTS JULY 4TH COMMUNITY PARTY - 7/6/2006

Royce Builders community of SouthFork hosted a July 4th community party for current residents, future residents, Realtors and interested buyers.

More than 75 guests came to celebrate our nations birthday while receiving free food, over 25 door prizes and to compete in the apple pie eating contest and bike decorating contest.

Door prizes such as American flags, fishing kits, patriotic beach chairs, igloo coolers, Chili’s gift cards, Houston Dynamo tickets, Houston Astros tickets and Home Depot gift cards were given away every 20 minutes.

Community children decorated their bikes with patriotic plates, streamers, cups, stars, and stuffed animals to compete in the decorating contest. Trophies were given to the most patriotic and most spirited children and new bikes were given to the grand-prize winners. A total of 16 trophies and six bikes were given to the children who participated in the contest.

Adults and children competed in the apple pie eating contest. Adults had three minutes to eat as many apple pies as they could while children had two minutes to eat as much of a one pie. The adult winner who ate the most was awarded with a trophy and four Houston Astros tickets. The child who ate the most won a trophy and a $100 gift certificate to Wal-Mart.

A DJ was present to play all the patriotic music while guests enjoyed the event with family, friends and new acquaintances’. Guests were offered hotdogs, chips, salsa, cookies, brownies, soft drinks and ice cream.

It was a great way for SouthFork to show its appreciation to the community and also a way give the residents a chance to meet their neighbors.

SouthFork plans on having community events such as this once a month. The community also plans on having two smaller events every week for Realtors.

Breedlove Quadruplets Celebrate First Birthday - 2/24/2006

Houston, TX., February 24, 2006 - The Breedlove Quads are true living miracles. To date, less than 50 naturally occurring identical quadruplets have been recorded in medical history. With birth weights of just over one pound to just over two pounds, the quads have flourished and are now ranging in size between 15-17 pounds. Royce Builders has played a strong role in helping the Breedlove family to handle their extreme circumstances. A year ago, Royce donated 1 full year in a 5- bedroom home to help the family. Recently, Royce Builders went the next step and presented the girls with another fantastic birthday present!

The Breedlove family along with Shonna and Shawn Speer of Royce Builders, hosted a birthday party for the Quads in the South Fork Subdivision where they announced that Royce Builders has started an education fund for each of the girls. As a special surprise, Royce also donated another year in their home rent-free. Over 200 people helped the quads celebrate their birthday, showered them with gifts and watched them enjoy their first taste of cake.

The Breedloves were planning to move in with Shelley’s family to make ends meet and get additional help with the four babies, and their one-year-old son, Logan. When Royce Builders learned of this special family they stepped in and donated the following last year and will be providing again:

Houston Community Works Together to Welcome Quadruplets Home - 5/25/2005

Houstonians Shelley and Eric Breedlove have their hands full—literally. In addition to their 15-month-old son, Logan, Shelley just delivered a set of identical quadruplets, conceived without fertility drugs or in vitro fertilization, at The Woman’s Hospital of Texas.

Five area Houston businesses have come together to help this young and GROWING family out by donating a new house, furniture and van and surprised Shelley with the news as she taped a segment for Good Morning America.

Royce Builders has generously donated a new home for the first year in their SouthFork community located just off of Highway 288 in the Pearland area. The house has five bedrooms and 3 ½ baths and measures almost 3,200 square feet. Royce Builders is donating all appliances for the home, all utilities, yard maintenance and insurance on the home for the first year. Included with the home is the Royce Builders HomeStar Customer Care Program. The HomeStar Program provides the Breedloves peace of mind by performing all home maintenance like changing the air conditioning filters and checking the pilot lights, so that the Breedloves have more time to focus on their family. SouthFork is conveniently located by both Shelley and Eric’s parents’ homes in anticipation that many hands will be needed to help care for the five Breedlove children!

Gallery Furniture has agreed to donate furniture for the entire home and will also provide expert advice from one of their decorators to help the Breedloves pick out all of their new furnishings. In addition, Gallery Furniture will also host a citywide diaper/formula drive from Friday, May 27th-Monday, May 30th at their I-45 location. The public is encouraged to bring disposable diapers and plain Similac formula.

Tex-Star Motors will supply the family with a new van that will be big enough to transport this 7-person family around town.

Babies-R-Us ® will be providing the car seats and strollers to help keep the family on the move as well as all the nursery linens and high chairs.

Luby’s Restaurants will help the family out by providing one meal per week for a year for the entire household.

Royce Builders was extremely excited to be a part of this special event and surprise the Breedlove’s with a new home for their family.

The Breedlove Family is making plans to move into the home permanently after the first year. Country Kitchens - 6/24/2004

Many families love the option of being able to entertain in their home and the kitchen is always the main gathering spot. Large country-style kitchens including an island and a serving bar open to the family room are popular. Some new kitchen designs include large windows and built-in window seating. There is also additional space for the new large size refrigerators and a breakfast area big enough to fit a rectangular table. The Jefferson plan (554) in SouthFork, a new design for Royce Builders, offers a county kitchen measuring 584 square feet, which is 20 percent of the total square footage of the home. This kitchen features a dual-sided fireplace leading from the family room into the kitchen. The kitchen itself had an island for serving a den large enough for a sofa, coffee table and chairs along with a full breakfast area that can seat six comfortably. The open plan allows for large windows for natural light as well as high ceilings for recessed lighting and a very comfortable atmosphere. SouthFork underwrites the Cattle Baron's Ball - 4/28/2004

Royce Builder’s newest master-planned community, SouthFork (located off Highway 288 in Manvel and just minutes from downtown), was the main underwriting sponsor of the American Cancer Society’s Cattle Baron’s Ball. The George Ranch in Richmond was the backdrop for Houston’s prestigious Cattle Baron’s Ball. The benefit raised over $1.5 million dollars for the American Cancer Society in a fun-filled exciting evening. The Cattle Baron’s Ball is the social event of the year, just like the academy awards. There was a swag bag filled with goodies for the realtors which included Cattle Baron’s Ball t-shirts, a Wildflowers of Texas book, a bookmark, a set of SouthFork leather coasters, a leather notepad, a blue bell ice cream scoop and more! As special guests of Royce Builders, the realtors enjoyed a town car chauffeured ride to the ranch, where there was a performance by Wynonna Judd, dinner, dancing, casino, midway games, raffles, auctions and more.

Royce invited 8 realtors to the star-studded evening and five realtors won tickets at the SouthFork “Under Construction” party. The winners included Berlon Hemphill-Radford of Keller Williams in Pearland, Beth Nolen of Coldwell Banker, “Always” Wright of Keller Williams Pearland, Dorothy Mitchell of Golf Land Realtors in Missouri City and Glenda Hodges of Keller Williams Pearland.

The remainder of the realtors won tickets by showing the homes in SouthFork. Among those winners were Richard and Sylvia Skotak, Broker owner of ERA SilverStar, Connie Knox and Cassie Carrol of Re/Max Top Realty, and Bill McIlwain co-owner of Prudential Gary Greene.

Pearland Reporter News- New Subdivision Brings 'Dallas' to the Bayou City - 3/10/2004

If the two-story JR Ewing-esque information center surrounded by longhorn cattle roaming a flat Texas pasture has you humming the "Dallas" theme music as you enter SouthFork subdivision, it’s not by accident.

Houston-based Royce Homes is co-developing the new ranch-like subdivision just off of Highway 288, less than a mile south of FM 518. The new community, which is just in the early stages now, hope to bring a little bit of the hill country to the Bayou City, according to Royce's SouthFork sales manager Craig Welch. "Drive around here now, and you can already see the Hill Country influence," Welch said. "Our design team wanted to bring an innovative, fresh idea to the area, and I feel they’ve done that. There aren't many new subdivisions where you'll find big front porches and brick homes with limestone accents." And there aren't many, if any, communities where you'll find information reminiscent of the Ewing Ranch home, site of the fictional series "Dallas." Nowhere in Pearland will you find longhorn steer roaming outside your home, and nowhere in Texas will you find a 60-feet wooden windmill. That's because the one they’re building (and should have complete this month) will be the largest of its kind in Texas. "This is the essence of a master-planned community. Nobody's ever really done this before...paid so much attention to detail," said Missy Alwais, Royce public relations director. "The windmill just adds to the feel of a comfortable country community."

Soon after the windmill is complete, Welch expects the information center to be finished. Then as soon as the Royce staff moves their new home, the temporary trailers will be hauled away to make room for the cattle. Construction crews are also hard at work digging and filling the four lakes that will surround SouthFork and the several nature/hiking trails that should follow. Future additions include an open-air pavilion and a junior-sized Olympic swimming pool.
But the surrounding property isn’t the main attraction at SouthFork. The selling point is the homes, which line up along roads with names like Ewing Drive, Oil Baron Lane, Dallas Lane, and Rancher Hollow Court. Ranging in prices from the $150's to the $300's, the Royce Homes and Enclave Homes will feature amenities such as large porches, arched entrances, high ceilings, rounded corners and art niches in nearly every room of the house. Some of the homes will be built right up on the lakes.
"We're hoping for a real quiet and laid back community," Welch said. "But one that its just minutes from Houston." Officially in the Manvel city limits, which Alwais said helps homeowners tax wise, SouthFork is officially 12 miles from the Medical Center and 15 miles from downtown Houston. It's located on SouthFork Road (hence the idea for the "Dallas" theme), which will be extended across Highway 288 in the future. According to Welch, about 40 families are currently living in the first few phases of SouthFork and 50 lots and 30 finished homes are currently available. In four years, they hope to have as 1,200 homes built. "I think people will be attracted to the fact that they can get these amenities and style for an affordable price," he said.
